"Speakby"
From the soul
I speak
And my every word is a reflection
Of the thoughts and dreams
Deep within my heart and mind
Yet, from the darkness
That still lingers in the corners of my soul
I'll say words
Shadowed in doubt, guilt, and hate
And those words
Will stab the ears of anyone listening
Those words will sting,
And what if those words were not meant to be said?
Why were they said?
Did they fall fast off my tongue?
Did I know what I was saying?
Or did I just say them?
Yeah, freedom of speech frees my soul
But every word carries a weight
Every word changes everyone
I speak from my soul
Because of the pain and the darkness
That I have endured
But there was a time,
Where my words were poison.
Ignorance blinded me,
Hate held me,
And envy was the green
I still see sometimes
Dripping from my blood and tears
I know better now
I speak with thought
I speak with my heart
I speak true
My words are a whisper
In this loud world of ours
And I am drowned out
Because ignorance, hate, and envy cradle us
We are blinded by greed, power, and control
And double standards rule the way of words
Should we pay a price for what we said?
Should we take blame for our actions?
Can we take back every word that shocked and appalled you?
Freedom of speech
Freed my soul
And gave birth to my words
But it's abused more than it deserves
Speak from the soul
Say your heart and mind
Just know
That every word
Changes everyone
And if your words do indeed
Taste of poison,
The price will be
Your silence.
