Biography

In Stefania's own words:

"My name is Stefania Morgante.
I live in Sardinia (italy), but I was born in Puglia, Brindisi, South Italy, near the Greece.

I’ve studied at the Art High School of Lecce, then I went to the University of Bologna, DAMS (Discipline of Arts, Music and Performances), where I took my bachelor in Teoria delle forme (theories of Shapes) in 1992.

After University I collaborated with the cultural page of some national newspapers.
I took care of the public relationships for some theaters. I’ve also taught Drawing and Art history in the High schools and in some courses about tourism.
Then I decided to reflect and I asked myself: what do I want to do? This is how my activity was born, it joins fantasy, technology and the tradition of the artistic creation with the desire of realizing my dreams."

Awards and Accomplishments:

From January 2007 to June 2007 I was a student of Marylin Radzat and for 1 month a student of Marlaine Vehrelst (Niada members).

The Legend of the Pupe or Pupazze

The Pupe or Pupazze are wonderful and original flasks of terracotta with the moustasches. In full Middle Ages, as many know, we had a law called "jus primae NOCTIS",which granted the right to the noble and feudatory to spend the first wedding night with the bride (Latin for law -or right-of the first night).

But a furious and jealous husband decided to arise, dressed as women, in the bed of the noble forgetting however to cut the moustasches. Of course was put on trial and, to save the skin, (risked the decapitation) were ordered to produce an excellent wine to be put in special flasks in ceramics, representing this dressing up, precisely "pupae".

The pupae are produced in South Italy, Puglia, the land of my mother where I was born and the town is called Grottaglie, very famous for its wonderful ceramics.y know, we had a law called "jus primae NOCTIS",which granted the right to the noble and feudatory to spend the first wedding night with the bride (Latin for law -or right-of the first night).
