Submission Guidelines


Short Stories: All short stories should be 10,000 words or less, and submitted in plain text format. The only acceptable genres are Horror/Suspense, Sci-Fi Fantasy. 9 of Swords will not accept erotica or opinion pieces. Rated "R" material is acceptable; Rated "X" is not, content is up to the editor's sole discretion based on it's artistic value. All writers will retain copyright for their own work and be paid upon publication. By submitting your work to 9 of Swords, you are certifying that your writing is original, and that it is your own. Please send all submissions to editor@9ofswords.com. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a response.

Poems: Poets must submit at least 3 poems, in order to properly showcase your work. Most types of poems are acceptable, however; priority is given to gothic, fantasy, and philosophical type pieces. Poems can be free verse, or formatted. Rated "R" material is acceptable; Rated "X" is not, content is up to the editor's sole discretion based on it's artistic value. Art: Painting, Photography, Digital, art, most any type. NO self portraits, or Erotica will be accepted. Please submit at least 3 portfolio pieces. All types of art will be considered, however priority is given to gothic, and fantasy art. Music: All genres of music are acceptable. Priority is given to musicians who are poetic, gothic, industrial, and very unique.
